Tape, CD or DVD libraries may also be stored in media vaults. Expired information is destroyed using confidential destruction services. Archival Preservation – Some information must be retained permanently. Some records managers rely on film-based imaging for long-term preservation while others prefer to maintain original paper records in an environmentally controlled vault or climate controlled records center.
